Full Mouth

Reconstruction

The first step in full mouth reconstruction is a consultation during which Dr. Shaw evaluates the overall oral health of the gums and teeth. He uses a wide range of diagnostic tools including digital radiographs, intra-oral photography and diagnostic models to assess all areas of concern. While exploring treatment options, he will evaluate the function and efficency of treatment solutions, their longevity and last but not least, their esthetic appeal.

Full mouth reconstruction is usually indicated when a patient experiences significant loss of lower face height as well as the sagging wrinkled look this may create.

Atrophy of the supporting bone is a significant contribution to premature aging.

Full mouth reconstruction is a way to restore a patient’s natural face height. This may be done by using different restorative procedures such as dental crowns, dental bridges and dental implants.

In taking on full mouth reconstruction cases, Dr. Shaw will use all of the tools available in order to create a customized and comprehensive solution that addresses the health of the mouth as a whole, not simply every tooth individually. In using this approach, several of the more complex full mouth reconstruction cases may require a coordination of efforts with other dental specialists (endodontists, periodontists, orthodontists, etc.).
